The project included the reconstruction of existing production premises of 8,572 m2 and construction of new hall for production of Škoda Auto gearboxes with total area of 23,535 m2. The hall is founded on concrete foundation footings; the bearing construction consists of prefabricated concrete poles and a steel bearing structure. The construction works also included construction of in-built office premises.
The extension of the Škoda Auto production plant is one of the most important industrial structures in the Czech Republic. By this investment, Škoda Auto transformed its production plant in Vrchlabí from an automobile factory into a plant producing gearboxes for the entire Volkswagen group.
